The latest season of Natural China, a documentary series produced by China Media Group (CMG), has turned its focus to Changbai Mountain in northeast China.
As a vast range stretching for 1,300 kilometers, Changbai Mountain is the most intact ecological barrier on the eastern edge of the Eurasian continent. It has been listed both as a UNESCO Global Geopark and a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
Jointly produced by China's National Forestry and Grassland Administration, the five-episode documentary tries to uncover the code of Changbai Mountain's ecological vitality in such aspects as volcanic geology, hydrological origin and flagship species.
It focuses on the mountain's unique and scarce geological resources, the complete and three-dimensional mountain ecosystem, and the continuously improving wildlife protection achievements. It also focuses on the restoration of the Siberian tiger and leopard populations, as well as the protection of their habitats in the wild, which are topics of public concern.
Tune in to CMG's CCTV-1 channel and its online platforms to get a fresh perspective of the protection achievements and ecological value of Changbai Mountain.
