In north China's Shanxi Province, five flamingos have gathered at Yuncheng Salt Lake. They can be seen gliding low over the water, wading in search of food and preening their bright pink feathers. Sensitive to water quality and habitat conditions, flamingos are considered an indicator of a healthy wetland environment. Their growing presence is an encouraging sign for the lake's ecological recovery.
