This is Gabonese President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema's first state visit to China since taking office.

On Wednesday morning, he visited the Memorial of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China in Shanghai, where he reviewed the history of the founding of the Communist Party of China and its more than a century of struggle and efforts. In a written message, he noted: "A nation's great transformation often begins with those pivotal moments that break new ground. This insight holds true for Gabon as well. Since August 30, 2023, Gabon has officially embarked on a journey of profound change."

He will also attend the 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE), where Gabon will make its debut at the Country Pavilion, showcasing exports  such as wood and agri-food products.
