There's a tiny new resident in Pu'er City, southwest China's Yunnan Province.

A newborn Asian elephant has been caught on camera in Jiangcheng Hani and Yi Autonomous County, and it looks like it's already practicing. Surveillance footage shows the calf playfully swinging a tree branch around while safely tucked between two protective adult elephants.

The adorable sighting is more than just a cute video – it's a sign that the region's Asian elephant population is growing steady.
