China is willing to strengthen communication and dialogue with Saudi Arabia, Iran and other regional countries to achieve sustained security and stability in the Middle East, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said on Wednesday.

"The pressing priority is to avoid resumption of conflicts in the Middle East, which will inflict great suffering on the people in the region," Mao said at a press conference in Beijing.
