Unit 1 of the Qinghai Huadian Golmud Phase I coal-fired power project completed a 168-hour trial run and entered commercial operation on November 5.

Located in Golmud City, northwest China's Qinghai Province, the project consists of two 660-megawatt ultra-supercritical coal-fired power units. Once fully operational, the project is expected to generate around 6 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, enough to meet the annual electricity needs of approximately 6.6 million residents.

The project will also help strengthen the stability of Qinghai's power grid and support the integration of more renewable energy.
