US Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer said on Wednesday that "we are going to end the war" with Iran, adding that the effort has gained support from several Senate Republicans. "We are going to end the war. We have some Republicans already who have joined us in ending the war. The Founding Fathers established the power of the purse as a way to deter a president who wages war without the consent of the American people," Schumer said during a press conference at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee headquarters in Washington, D.C.

House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries echoed these remarks, stating: "We need to end this reckless and costly war of choice that has skyrocketed gas prices all across the country, and we need to stop the Trump tariffs that have increased costs for everyday Americans by thousands of dollars per year."
