Guangdong-registered yachts made their maiden voyage to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region under a new scheme on October 16, marking a step forward in two-way yacht travel in China's Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Since the launch of the northbound travel scheme for Hong Kong and Macao yachts in June, yacht-related activities in Guangdong have grown, driving demand for berthing, maintenance, coastal tourism and leisure consumption.
Guangzhou, Zhuhai and Jiangmen are among the cities advancing yacht-related services and supporting the industry's development, while Guangzhou has also established yacht industry alliances and introduced supporting policies. As connectivity expands from land to sea, cross-boundary yacht travel is creating more opportunities for shared tourism and leisure experiences across the Greater Bay Area.
