Somalia is participating in the China International Import Expo (CIIE) for the first time, bringing more than 40 companies to Shanghai. During an exclusive interview with CGTN's Zhang Meng, Gamal Mohamed Hassan, Somalia's minister of commerce and industry, said the core goal is to connect Somali businesses with Chinese partners and take full advantage of China's zero-tariff policy. "We are here to show that Somalia is ready to trade with China," the minister said, highlighting seafood, frankincense and minerals as key products. He also noted that Somali businesses will travel to other Chinese provinces and attend a business forum in the coming days to deepen partnerships.
