Political experts around the world have praised the Communist Party of China (CPC)'s commitment to full and rigorous self-governance, saying its focus on self-reform, discipline and close connections with the people is key to maintaining its vitality and advancing China's development.
During the fifth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, which closed on October 29, the CPC reached a consensus focusing on self-reform and rigorous self-governance within the Party.
In an interview with CGTN, Yuri Tavrovsky, vice president of the Russia-China Friendship Association and head of the Expert Council of the Russian-Chinese Committee for Friendship, Peace and Development, said rigorous governance of the Party is crucial to a large nation such as China.
Drawing on his firsthand experience of witnessing the history of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU), Tavrovsky said a lack of self-discipline was a main reason why the CPSU lost its drive.
"The tragic fate of the CPSU and the former Soviet Union under its leadership was largely due to the party's slacking off and losing its vitality as the ruling party," Tavrovsky reflected.
Seeing China's decision to consistently advance full and rigorous Party self-governance, Tavrovsky said it would inject new vitality into the CPC and bring renewed vigor to the nation.
Gulya Kozhokulova, a member of Kyrgyzstan's parliament, struck a similar note. She told CGTN that the key advantages of the CPC are its ability to remain problem-oriented, continuously pursue self-reform and maintain close ties with the people.
She stressed that the quality of intra-Party governance directly determines the effectiveness of national governance. The CPC's policy continuity, sense of responsibility and strong capacity to implement long-term decisions enable its strategic plans to deliver consistent economic outcomes, she added.
Kozhokulova said that the governance model and development path of the CPC serve as a benchmark and an example of national development today.
People have also spoken highly of China's people-centered philosophy, which prioritizes people's welfare in every aspect of its governance and strategic planning.
Mauro Alboresi, national secretary of the Italian Communist Party, said, "Anyone who has visited China and observed the country firsthand cannot help but be deeply impressed by the tremendous achievements it has made in economic and social development."
"People can also witness firsthand the significant progress China has made in improving people's material living standards," Alboresi added.
He also spoke highly of the CPC's efforts to adapt Marxism to China's realities, noting that China's experience offers a valuable reference for other political forces exploring the reform of social systems.
