The International Forum on Mutual Learning among Civilizations 2026 will open in China's Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) on November 9, bringing together nearly 300 representatives from over 20 countries for two days of discussions on cultural heritage, exchanges among civilizations and the challenges of the digital age.

Under the theme "Mutual Learning among Civilizations, Inheritance and Development," the forum will feature nearly 40 thematic sessions and academic exchanges, including keynote speeches, sub-forums and academic salons.

Discussions will cover a range of topics, including the historical links between the ancient Silk Road and the Belt and Road Initiative, the role of East-West exchanges and mutual learning in building a community with a shared future for humanity, cultural exchanges between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, global AI governance, and the impact of AI on cultural exchanges and human values.

Organized by the Macao SAR government with academic support from the Chinese Academy of History under the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the forum aims to promote dialogue and mutual understanding among different civilizations, while highlighting Macao's role as a platform for cultural exchange and international cooperation.
