Arpana Pratap, Secretary-General of the Pacific Islands Development Forum, highlighted the need for a sustainable blue economy at the 2026 World Ocean Week in Xiamen, southeast China’s Fujian Province. She stressed that sustainable development could support livelihoods, strengthen food security and protect marine ecosystems.
