Switching to football now we head to Europe where following a 1-nil defeat to rivals Spurs on Saturday, Arsenal were in last 32 first leg Europa League action against Ostersunds of Sweden. Their opponents, who are the first from the country to progress to the knock outs of the competition, have had a meteoric rise since their conception in 1996, being promoted twice and winning the Swedish Cup. Their game against the Gunners would have been no doubt the biggest in the club's history but they weren't able to match the occasion with a memorable performance. 13 minutes in and the visitors take the lead thanks to a Nacho Monreal close range strike, the defender's fifth goal of the season.
11 minutes later, home side center-back Sotirios Papagiannopoulos diverts Henrikh Mkhitaryan's cross into his own net as Arsenal go 2-nil up.
Danny Welbeck continues to struggle on the night. Having recently recovered from injury, the 27-year-old hasn't found the back of the net since returning in December.
Mesut Ozil adds a third after a nicely timed run into the box ends with the German finishing the scoring for the evening. Arsene Wenger's team sail to victory, 3-nil.
In other action, Michy Batshuayi continued his good scoring form for Dortmund in their 3-2 win against Atalanta. Milan eased past Ludogorets 3-nil while Celtic edged Zenit St. Petersburg by a single goal. Arguably the pick of the ties saw Leipzig come away from Napoli 3-1 winners, Atletico Madrid comfortably defeated Copenhagen 4-1 and Bilbao got past Spartak Moscow away, 3-1.
