The 19th National Congress of Communist Party of China (CPC) has elected a new Central Committee of 204 members before the Congress concluded on Tuesday.
It also voted for 172 alternate members of the CPC Central Committee and 133 members of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI).
The CPC national congress adopted a competitive election system at its 13th CPC National Congress in 1987.
In 2007, the number of nominated candidates of members of the 17th CPC Central Committee was 221, and the number of elected members was 204.
Five years later, the elimination margins for candidates of members of 18th CPC Central Committee and the 18th CPC CCDI were 9.3 percent and 8.5 percent respectively, while the ratios were 8.8 percent and 8.3 percent respectively at the 19th CPC National Congress.
