A convoy bringing aid to thousands of displaced Syrian families has entered the besieged rebel-held region of Eastern Ghouta just outside Damascus.
The International Committee of the Red Cross says the convoy is made up of 25 trucks. In a tweet, the Red Cross said, in its own words, "this is just a little of what these families need." State-run SANA News Agency says more civilians were evacuated from the area on Thursday. The report did not say exactly how many people were able to evacuate.
