Tibet, Inner Mongolia, Ningxia delegations arrive in Beijing for congress

The Communist Party of China (CPC) will commence its 19th National Congress on October 18, a key meeting held to draw out polices for future development. Party delegations have been arriving in Beijing to attend the congress that takes place once every five years.
The 41 Party representatives from Inner Mongolia were the first to arrive earlier Sunday morning, and 16 of them are farmers and workers.
A total of 29 delegates from Tibet Autonomous Region departed on Saturday and were the first group to set out for Beijing. Eleven of them are grassroots delegates and 20 of them belong to minority ethnic groups.

A total of 29 delegates from Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region also arrived in Beijing on Sunday afternoon, with nine of them from minority ethnic groups.
The delegates said that in the past five years since the 18th CPC National Congress, China has made enormous achievements. And they added they have the responsibility to do more work for the interests of the people across the country.
Qiangba Zahi, a grassroots worker from Tibet Autonomous Regions, said: “I am very honored to be here in Beijing to attend the 19th CPC National Congress. I am from the geological exploration industry, and I am confident that there will be more improvement in the infrastructure construction in rural areas.”

Yao Chi, a 27-year old delegate, said there is a significant rise of female representation this year, and she is feeling proud for being one of the delegates.
“I am a policewoman, I care most about is what measures the country will take to secure the implementation of laws and regulations. We have seen lots of work has been done in promoting administration by law and speeding up building a law-abiding government,” she said.

Ba Zhen, a teacher from Lhasa, said: “I hope there will be more supporting policies to develop local education systems. Now students from the Tibet Autonomous Region have more opportunities to study in good universities in Beijing.”

Da boer is also from Tibet Autonomous Region, he said the 19th CPC National Congress is very significant, as it comes at a critical time when China is striving to achieve a moderately prosperous society.
In total, over 2,200 representatives out of 89 million CPC members will attend the upcoming congress. They will discuss the country’s accomplishments since the previous gathering, and elect new members of the top leadership.
