A sculpture exhibition showcasing the rich variety of culture and customs of China's 56 ethnic groups is currently being held at the National Art Museum of China, here in Beijing. The exhibition is part of the NAMOC's contribution to the celebrations for the upcoming 70th anniversary of the PRC. Here's more.

Close to 300 pieces of sculpture are displayed across 11 exhibition halls at the National Art Museum.

The majority – 220 of them – were selected by a team of judges, from 600 submissions. The rest are from the museum's own collection.

The exhibition is divided into two chapters -- Ethnic Groups' Unity, and Ethnic Culture. The pieces represent the diversity and latest development trends of China's sculpture art.

The exhibits vividly express the diverse customs, life, sentiments and pursuits of the country's ethnic peoples. Every ethnic group is represented. The sculptors range from emerging young talents to established artists. By delving deep into the local communities, they've found subjects that have great vitality."

Jointly organized by the China Urban Sculptors Association and the National Art Museum, the exhibition runs until March 24th. SW, CGTN.
