In his speech, Liu Xiaoming said that the "Golden Era" of Sino-Britain relations had made deep developments in 2017. The cooperation between the two countries had witnessed fruitful results in various fields such as politics, economy and trade, education, culture, energy, science and technology, Belt and Road Initiative and global governance.
The first visit by the Chinese naval escort fleet to London has written a new chapter in the exchanges between the two countries' militaries.
He further said that Sino-British relations will usher in new opportunities and prospects in 2018.

Last week, British Prime Minister Theresa May visited China to great success. The Chinese and British leaders reached important consensus on bilateral efforts for an enhanced version of the "Golden Era" of Sino-Britain ties. Both sides signed a series of agreements of cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, education, culture, science and technology, and agriculture.
"The 'Golden Era' of China-UK relations enter a new period of accelerated development," said the ambassador.
Liu praised contributions made by overseas Chinese to promote exchanges and cooperation in economy and trade, humanities and sciences and technology between China and the UK. He called for everyone to seize new opportunities and contribute more to build an enhanced version of the "Golden Era" of Sino-Britain relations.
