China's domestically-developed large passenger jet C919 completed its fifth trial flight at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on November 8. C919 has finished three trial flights in the past week. After the fifth trail flight, C919 will head for Xi'an city, Shaanxi Province in northwest China for further flight tests. C919, or COMAC C919, is China's first self-developed large civil jet. The Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. (COMAC) launched the research and development of C919 in 2008, drawing efforts from thousands of technicians from 22 provinces, 36 universities and over 200 enterprises.
