The friendship between China and Pakistan will be "passed on from generation to generation," Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang said in Islamabad on Monday, calling Pakistan a "trusted partner" and "true brother" of China, Xinhua has reported.
Wang made the remarks in an address at the commemoration of the 70th anniversary of Pakistan's independence.
"What we have between China and Pakistan is a friendship based on shared aspirations and tested in adversity," Wang said.

Both countries "shoulder the historical mission of national rejuvenation," Wang said, and need close cooperation "more than ever."
China will always be Pakistan's good neighbor, close friend, trusted partner and true brother, the Chinese Vice Premier stressed.

Pakistan's important role in Belt and Road Initiative

Wang said China firmly supports Pakistan's efforts to uphold independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as to fight terrorism.
He also highlighted the country's role in the Belt and Road Initiative.
"China sees Pakistan as an important partner in the Belt and Road Initiative," Wang said, adding that the two countries will take forward the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
