Chinese President Xi meets Namibian President Hage Geingob for bilateral cooperation

Chinese President Xi Jinping held a welcoming ceremony on Thursday for President Hage G. Geingob of the Republic of Namibia at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
Geingob is on a state visit to China from March 28 to April 3. 
After the welcoming ceremony, President Xi held talks with President Geingob at the Great Hall of the People. The two heads of state decided to establish a comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Namibia.

Xi said that China and Namibia must strengthen high-level exchanges and friendly exchanges and cooperation at all levels, and continuously increase mutual political trust. 
Xi added that China is willing to work with Namibia on wildlife protection and will not tolerate illegal activities such as the smuggling of wildlife products. 
Xi and Geingob exchanged views on strengthening bilateral ties under cooperative mechanisms, such as the Belt and Road Initiative and the Forum of China-Africa Cooperation.
The two sides agreed to work together to advance China-Namibia cooperation in various areas including agriculture, infrastructure, energy, technology, trade and investment.
Geingob stated that Namibia attaches great importance to relations with China and is willing to enhance the level of bilateral relations, and strengthen exchanges and cooperation with China in areas including infrastructure, sustainable development, human resources, technology and poverty alleviation.
After the talks, the two heads of state also witnessed the signing of bilateral cooperation documents in the fields of infrastructure, financing, inspection and quarantine.
