Chinese food deliveryman Mao Zhaomu's enthusiasm for English is legendary for those who know him. Mao made his dream come true this summer by securing admission in the English major program at the prestigious Sichuan International Studies University (SISU).
However, Mao isn't satisfied yet. He is striving for his next dream - attending an English talk show on China Central Television (CCTV.)

The 18-year-old school dropout is popular among his clients at SISU for his English messages, sent to them when they did not answer phone calls during his delivery services. Some of them posted screenshots of Mao's messages online.

In an interview to Chongqing Morning Post, Mao said that despite dropping out of school, he loved English, and as means to practice and improve his proficiency in the language, he would always message his clients at SISU in English.

“I intend to practice English and I think all students from SISU must speak English.” Mao told the Post. Mao said he had tried making the acquaintance of an American, seeking his help in correcting grammatical errors.
Impressed by Mao's passion for English, Mr Gao who owns a restaurant near SISU offered the teenager a job as a deliveryman.
However, Mao’s aspirations are higher. He quit his deliveryman job this July to start preparing for the national self-taught higher education examinations.

The month-long effort did not disappoint Mao. He has finally made it to his dream university for the English major program.
Mao said he would like to extend gratitude to anyone who had helped him during the build-up for the exams.
