Syria Conflict: Pro-Damascus forces say Syrian army successfully slices eastern Ghouta in two

Syrian pro-government forces are saying they now control half of Eastern Ghouta, a rebel-held area near the capital Damascus.
This was also confirmed by a UK-based war monitoring group. However, a rebel leader has denied the claim.  The International Committee for the Red Cross said an aid convoy which was supposed to bring assistance to the besieged enclave on Thursday has been postponed due to the evolving situation on the ground.
