China on Monday congratulated Iraq on the victory in the battle to retake Mosul from the ISIL.
"It is a big victory in Iraq's anti-terrorism war and also positive progress for international anti-terrorism cooperation," Geng Shuang, spokesman for the Foreign Ministry, said at a press conference.
China will continue to support the Iraqi government to maintain the country's security and promote economic reconstruction, he added.
