At least one killed in shooting near University of Utah

At least one person has been killed in a shooting incident on Monday night near the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, the United States.

The university said on Twitter at about 9 p.m. local time that shots were fired in Red Butte Canyon, a research area on the east side of the school.

The university sent an alert to all students and advised them to take shelter.

Police are searching for a male suspect and a commuter train service has been suspended near the school, the Salt Lake Tribune reported.
