The Communist Party of China (CPC) has made significant advances on the theoretical and cultural fronts in the past five years, General Secretary of CPC Central Committee Xi Jinping said while delivering a work report at the opening session of the 19th CPC National Congress on Wednesday. Socialism with Chinese characteristics and the Chinese Dream have been embraced by the Chinese people, he noted. “We the Chinese people have greater confidence in our culture,” Xi emphasized, adding that China’s soft power and the international influence of the Chinese culture have greatly improved.
