NASA's Cassini spacecraft is set to plunge through Saturn's atmosphere, break apart, melt and vaporize on 15 September 2017.
Cassini is the first and only spacecraft to orbit around the ringed gas giant.
Launched on 15 October 1997, Cassini has captured unprecedented views of Saturn and its rings, discovering six moons.
According to Cassini-Huygens imaging team leader Carolyn Porco, the Cassini mission paved the way for new discoveries and has sparked an ongoing interest in learning even more about Saturn and the solar system.
