Turning to Europe now. EU and British negotiators have agreed on draft Brexit treaty texts dealing with a transition period.
The negotiators on Monday also reached a broad agreement on Irish border issues, the rights of expatriate citizens and a financial settlement. EU Chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier called the draft treaty a decisive step towards reaching a comprehensive agreement. He also said a complete accord on citizens' rights and financial settlement would be worked out soon. The draft treaty notes that the transition will end in December, 2020.
