As the prominent trading route since China's Western Han dynasty (BC 202 – AD 8), the Silk Road started the trade between the East and the West, which was vital to both the economies of these areas. /Chinanews Photo
To vividly represent the prosperity of the Silk Road, the sculptor displayed the scene where Chinese businessmen are walking in the desert with goods-loaded camels heading to the West inside a 10-meter-long ebony which weighed 10 tons. There are also several delicate Buddha created above the Silk Road to enrich the whole work. /Chinanews Photo
Sculptured by hand for two years, it is said that the piece is priced for more than 15,200,000 US dollars. /Chinanews Photo
