Shanghai Int'l Film Festival: Golden Goblet awards winners unveiled

After more than a week's grand celebrations of film, the 21st Shanghai International Film Festival has come to a conclusion. Winners of Golden Goblet awards were announced at a ceremony on Sunday night. So, who're the winners? Sun Wei tells us more.
SUN WEI SHANGHAI "The Shanghai International Film Festival staged its award ceremony here at the Shanghai Grand Theatre. There are eight Golden Goblet awards for the main competition are handed out. The winners are all selected by a seven-member international jury panel."
Chinese film "Ala Changso" was a big winner, leading in two major categories, including the most-coveted Jury Grand Prix and the Award for Best Screenplay. Tibetan director Sonthar Gyal expressed his gratitude to his homeland for his creation.
SONTHAR GYAL DIRECTOR, ALA CHANGSO "The movie tells a story that is not gorgeous. It's close to our life. I should thank the land of Tibet. It has given me so many inspirations."
The Swiss-Mongolian movie "Out of Paradise" bagged the award for Best Feature Film. Centering around a nomadic couple waiting for the birth of their child, the film was praised by the jury as "simple but not crude" as well as "sincere and poetic".
Going home with the Best Director award were Rodrigo and Sebastian Barriuso for their movie "A Translator". The Canadian brothers expressed their surprise at this honor.

US actor Tye Sheridan was named Best Actor for his role in "Friday's Child". Meanwhile, Isabelle Blais from Canada snatched the Best Actress title for her performance in "Tadoussac".
The award for Best Cinematography went to Jeff Birman for his work in "Friday's Child". And French-Belgium film "Carnivores" won Outstanding Artistic Achievement.
Festival organizers say the competition for the Golden Goblets this year was quite fierce, as they have accepted more than 3,400 applications from around 108 countries and regions.
