We move to English soil for the Premier League where despite snow causing disruptions across the United Kingdom, Mohamed Salah's red-hot form hasn't been affected at all. Liverpool hosted Newcastle at Anfield and the Egyptian was able to find the net once again to add to his impressive tally this season.
Towards the end of the first half, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain pounces on a loose ball and opens up space before passing to an unmarked Salah who makes no mistake in giving the Reds a 1-0 lead with his 24th goal of the Premier League campaign, and his 32nd in 38 games in all competitions. Great run from Oxlade-Chamberlain and Salah goes through keeper Martin Dubravka's legs.
In the second half, the unimpressive visitors buckle under pressure again when Roberto Firmino finds Sadio Mane and the Senegalese finds the net, doubling the lead for the home side. Liverpool would go on to win 2-0 which moves them past Manchester United into second place - at least until their rivals play at Crystal Palace on Monday.
