Day one of China Fashion Week featured renowned fashion designer Lan Yu, the "Vera Wang" of China and regarded by the media as the "Chinese Queen of Wedding Dresses." Besides her signature elegant and romantic wedding gowns, the designer also brought a young and fresh look to the Fall/Winter 2018 collection for brides who want an alternative.
The collection maintains the designer's romanticism and highlights femininity by combining Chinese aesthetics with western designs.

Lan took advantage of colors like pearl white, light blue and pale pink, highlighting a delicate look in her collection.  The iconic laces, sparkling sequins and pearl decorations created a dazzling and glamorous feel.
"The Fall/Winter 2018 collection is set to the theme of Rainbow, which represents love and everything beautiful," says the designer.  "When a girl falls in love, it's like seeing the rainbow after the rain. It's rare but amazingly beautiful. I hope people who wear my wedding dresses can feel the beauty and preciousness."

Lan Yu, known for fusing traditional Chinese artisanship and a modern perspective, is now one of the leading figures among China's new generation of designers. Her designs have also been recognized at the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week and New York Fashion Week.
"I'm happy to bring our cultural influence to a global audience in Paris and New York. But I believe that it does not matter where you showcase your designs. What matters is that a designer should develop his or her own style and stick to it. Only in this way can you be recognized by more people," she says.
The 31-year-old designer started her namesake brand "LanYu" in 2005, and has developed lines in wedding dresses, ready-to-wear clothing and accessories.
