Protests against a gasoline price increase of 20.1 percent since January 1 resulted in more looting in cities across Mexico on Thursday.
People made their way into stores and left with various kinds of products, including televisions, toys and clothes.
At least one police officer was killed and hundreds of people were arrested when looting took place in several parts of the country on Wednesday.
Several stores closed ahead of the protests, after some 1,000 businesses had been looted or vandalized during recent protests.
