The European Union's chief Brexit negotiator, Michel Barnier says, despite their talks approaching the half-way mark, the UK has still not outlined its vision for their future relationship.
MICHEL BARNIER EU CHIEF NEGOTIATOR "We also planned to have an update by the United Kingdom on our future relationship. This update did not come this morning due to a diary clash on the British side. It's the only meeting that has been cancelled."
Barnier said the EU was constantly requesting clarity from the UK on this issue. He added, without a clear understanding, the EU may be forced into arranging a regular deal with Britain and not the special one that Downing Street wants.
