The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Tuesday rejected a UN Security Council resolution imposing tougher sanctions and said its “forthcoming measures” will make the US suffer the “greatest pain” it had ever experienced.
"The Washington regime fired up for political, economic, and military confrontation, [is] obsessed with the wild game of reversing the DPRK's development of nuclear force which has already reached the completion phase," Pyongyang's ambassador Han Tae Song said while addressing the UN-sponsored Conference on Disarmament in Geneva.
The UN Security Council earlier unanimously imposed new sanctions on Pyongyang including a ban on its textile exports and capping imports of crude oil following its sixth nuclear test.
Paraphrasing an earlier statement from the DPRK Foreign Ministry, Han said, "The forthcoming measures by the DPRK will make the US suffer the greatest pain it ever experienced in its history.”
