China will speed up efforts to integrate government information systems in 2018 and "connect up information islands," referring to isolated databases, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said on Monday.
Li made the remarks in his government work report to lawmakers during the opening meeting of the first session of the 13th National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature, which is being held in Beijing from March 5 to 20.
"We will make progress with the Internet Plus Government Services model, enabling more matters to be processed online, and doing our best to see that things requiring presence in person get done in one place and without the need for a second trip," he said in the report.
