Shanghai Disneyland has celebrated its first birthday, and the franchise in the Chinese mainland went all out for the occasion on Friday evening.
The theme park has seen over 11 million visitors since it opened on June 16, 2016, exceeding the company's most optimistic expectations, CEO Bob Iger said earlier this week. The park is considered a driving force in promoting the Walt Disney Company’s 11 percent increase in net profits, shown in second quarter earnings reports.
On Friday, selected visitors and guests were invited to a fireworks show to thank them for their love of the Disney dreams.
Profit is expected to grow in 2018 with the addition of Toy Story Land to the Shanghai theme park.
