The southern Chinese metropolis of Shenzhen banned traffic violators from using shared bikes for up to half an hour amidst the growing number of shared bikes in the city.
As the regulation enforced at the start of July, more than 27,000 people have been banned from using the bikes as a punishment for traffic violations.
"After the third offense, the offender will be prohibited from using a shared bike for six months,” said Liu Yi, a traffic police officer.
