Our reporter Dan Williams has had a chance to talk to Simon Birmingham. He is the Australian Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment. He shared with his ideas on how the Expo will benefit economic cooperation between China and Australia.
SIMON BIRMINGHAM AUSTRALIAN MINISTER FOR TRADE, TOURISM & INVESTMENT "The CIIE has been designated by President Xi as being a significant priority of his. And we want to support that because it is a rightful recognition of the fact that China is now a significant global economy. In our region, even more significant. And the role China has played in terms of our economic growth and success is a really positive one in so far is that it has lifted millions of people out of poverty. It has seen enormous growth. We ought to celebrate that, to embrace that and of course, we as a nation want to continue to have strong economic as well as strategic relationship with China and this event is going to provide us with an opportunity to do that at a government level as well as a business and cultural level."
