Despite no firm evidence pointing to Moscow, the UK and its allies continue to blame Russia. As punishment, the British Prime Minister announced last month the expulsion of 23 Russian diplomats. Moscow denied any responsibility, and retaliated three days later by ordering out the same number of British diplomats. 14 European countries also expelled Russian government workers. On March 26th, the US made its move kicking out 60 Russians and closing a consulate in Seattle.
In retaliation, Moscow closed the US consulate in St. Petersburg and expelled 60 American diplomats. The Kremlin also ejected more than 50 British diplomats - and scores more from other countries that blame Moscow for the poisoning.
