One killed, 17 injured after bus crashed into canal in Thailand

One person was killed and 17 injured after a bus ran off the road and crashed into a canal in central Thailand Tuesday morning, Xinhua News Agency reported citing local media.
The bus, with 28 passengers on board, plunged into a canal in central Nakhon Sawan Province. 
The driver was killed in the accident. 
However, all the passengers managed to escape from the vehicle. 
At least 17 people were injured, 12 seriously. 
The bus had been travelling for over 10 hours and most of the passengers were sleeping when the accident happened. 
Local police said the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel.
