The DPRK delegation to the Winter Olympics in South Korea says Pyongyang is willing to hold talks with Washington. That message is from Kim Yong-chol, a senior official of the DPRK's Workers' Party, during a meeting with South Korean President Moon Jae-in.
However, the DPRK has condemned the latest round of sanctions imposed by the United States. DPRK state media accused the US of trying to undermine the improvement in inter-Korean relations during the Winter Olympics and said a blockade by the United States would be considered an act of war.
On Friday, the US launched what it called its "largest-ever" package of sanctions against the DPRK, including one individual, 27 companies and 28 vessels with trade links to Pyongyang.
