At least 20 people were injured in a tour bus crash in Japan's northern Hokkaido on Friday, according to national broadcaster NHK.

The bus, carrying 49 people from Tokyo, was travelling from Sapporo city to Akan Lake when it crashed into the side of the road near Shimizu Town in Hokkaido at around 4 p.m. local time.

Investigations are underway.

There have been no reports of Chinese tourists getting injured in the incident so far.
