Dense fog enveloped large sea areas of south China's Hainan Province on Monday, causing disruptions in both land and sea transportation. Sea transport at Xiuying port, Xinhai port and Nangang port in Haikou city were all suspended, leaving more than 10,000 vehicles stranded on the way to ports as they had to take steam ferries to cross the Qiongzhou Strait.
