10 wild Asian elephants frightened residents when they began roaming around in a village in southwest China’s Yunnan Province on March 12. They ate crops in the field and even entered the villagers’ homes. Thanks to an increased public awareness in animal protection, many chose to keep away from the elephants. Local police also informed residents on how to handle the uninvited visitors.
