A man was shot dead by French security services at a Marseille train station in France after he attacked people with a knife on Sunday afternoon, said French prosecutors.
The knifeman was crying out “Allahu Akbar” as he attacked two women and stabbed them to death, according to police.
French authorities have launched an anti-terror probe into the knife attack.
The prosecutor's office in Paris said in a statement that the probe would focus on "killings linked to a terrorist organization" and the "attempted killing of a public official," two terror-related charges.
Marseille police have urged people in the city to avoid the area around Saint-Charles station.
