China on Wednesday denied that a Chinese military aircraft had flown illegally inside a Republic of Korea (ROK) air defence identification zone (ADIZ), saying the complaint was "completely unreasonable."
"I must emphasize that an ADIZ does not equal territorial airspace," Lu said. "The ROK's complaint is completely unreasonable."
According to a Yonhap News report on Tuesday, a Chinese military aircraft entered the South Korean ADIZ, southwest of the Suyan Reef, at 9:34 a.m. local time, scrambling the country's F-15k fighter jets.
Korean media said the Chinese military aircraft left at 2:01 p.m.
South Korea summoned the Chinese ambassador on Tuesday to lodge a complaint over a Chinese military aircraft entering the South’s air defence territory.
