South Korea's main opposition Liberty Korea Party has decided to strip ousted President Park Geun-hye of membership, Yonhap news agency has reported.
The decision was taken "for the future of our party and the country", said party chairman, Hong Joon-pyo.
The party needs to cut ties with the former president to start anew and regain the trust of the people, he added.
Park, who led the country from 2013-2016, was impeached by parliament in December last year after months of protests after a sweeping cronyism scandal emerged.
The constitutional court upheld the decision in March, removing her from office.
Park is currently standing trial on charges including bribery and abuse of power.
