US justice officials announced Wednesday they had found a second Uzbek man they were seeking in relation to the New York attack that killed eight people on a cycling and jogging path.
Less than an hour after the FBI released posters with a picture of Mukhammadzoir Kadirov, 32, and appealed for information, William Sweeney, assistant director of the FBI's New York field office said he had been located.
"We are no longer looking for the person the information went out about," Sweeney told a press conference. "We have found him and I'll leave it at that."
Sayfullo Saipov, a 29-year-old Uzbekistan immigrant who has been living in New Jersey, was charged on Wednesday with committing the attack in the name of the ISIL.
Saipov appeared in Manhattan federal courtroom in a wheelchair, Reuters reported citing witness, adding that he has not sought bail, and will remain in custody.

US law enforcement officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, separately on Wednesday said Saipov had been in contact with Kadirov and one other person. The officials, who asked not to be identified because the investigation is ongoing, did not provide further details.
Saipov first started
planning an attack a year ago, before settling two months ago on using a truck to kill as many people as possible during Halloween celebrations, according to a federal terrorism complaint.
