Sri Lanka handed over control of its southern Hambantota Port to China on a 99-year lease in December last year. But critics say that China has set a "debt trap" for Sri Lanka in its acquisition of the facility. Earlier, CGTN's Liu Xin spoke to Karunasena Kodituwakku, the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to China. He says accusations of a debt trap are absolutely wrong, and that China stepping in to lease the port is helping Sri Lanka to overcome its difficulties.
